Woke up in the middle of the night with an AGONISING stomach pain. drank some water – no relief, didn’t need the toilet and didn’t need to puke. Was in a mild panic, thinking I’d have to go the hospital. Memory shot back to last night’s spag boll which had been lurking in the fridge for nearly a week. Lay down for five minutes, pain went, fell asleep. Whatever can it all mean?

This flyer for some town centre’s festivities doesn’t appear to rate old Santa as apostro-worthy. Unlike St Alfege and his advent calender. (Santa doesn’t appear to be working too hard either, couple of days here a couple there. The lazy get.

Lost shoe

Nicely placed, right into the corner there (it’s on an outside window ledge at our work) but don’t let that fool you, this is very much a lost shoe.

A vaguely tragic sight – who knows the story behind it? Maybe someone was getting chased – or ‘legged’ if you prefer – and it came off. Maybe it was lashed at the head of a lover during a heated row? Perhaps a bet went horribly, horribly wrong? Either way someone’s taken the time to place it carefully on this ledge, perhaps hoping the original owner will return to the scene and reclaim what’s rightfully there’s.
It’s the first in a new segment of the site I like to call The Lost Clothes Mysteries. More as they happen.

No wonder this fellow is looking so happy – he’s just charged £1.50 for a bag of chips (you can see the bag being handed over on the left of the pic, it’s sneaking out from the customer’s coat sleeve). And was asking – nay demanding – £1.60 for a sausage! This was bonfire night in the chippy opposite Blackheath station, in sexy south London. Shame on you sir! AND Ketchup was extra.

Quality viewing tonight – a real insight in to the minds of our betters. Colin and Justin reveal they don’t go the toilet in front of each other, the Italian cook won’t have women farting or burping – at all – and Jordan said something about weeing. She then added she’d never burped for real in her life. Bollocks.

Docklands museum – the people speak

Popped in to the docklands museum this weekend. it’s alright but there’s quite a lot to see and by the time i got to the bit i was interested (the redevelopment of the area into a glass monument to pound notes and titheads) i was a bit knackered. did enjoy John G’s critique, posted on the comment wall, of the slavery and sugar exhibition. elsewhere on the board a debate raged over whether such a huge subject could be seriously tackled on one floor of a moderate-sized musem. none of which appeared to concern John.
